One of the most popular TV series’ of all time returned to our screens in April and we couldn’t be more engrossed in the dramatic lives of our favourite Westeros clan.
With any book-to-screen adaptation, there will always be slight changes when it comes to the script, the setting and the characters to make it more relevant for viewers but this will always be a disadvantage for book lovers who couldn’t get enough of George R.R Martin’s smash hit series.
In case you didn’t jump on the bandwagon or you simply would rather watch the show than read the books then you’ll be surprised to know that some of your favourite characters actually should look a lot different if the novels are anything to go by.
Check out the GoT cast compared to their original written descriptions and decide for yourself just how accurate they are…;
1. Sandor Clegane (The Hound)
In the books, The Hound is described as a well built, very tall man – much like his older brother, Gregor (The Mountain). Due to a horrific incident where Gregor held The Hounds face in a fire when he was younger, he is described as having blackened flesh, a hole where his ear is supposed to be and part of his jaw is exposed.
Although the TV version of The Hound isn’t quite as harrowing looking, he is definitely fit for the role.
