As Twitchy reported earlier, there&8217;s been quite a bit of buzz Tuesday about Mitt Romney running for a Senate seat in Utah now that #Orrin Hatch has declared he&8217;s retiring in 2018.
Team Hillary has already expressed its butthurt that &8220;the media&8221; didn&8217;t immediately suggest that Romney take up knitting, and now #ThinkProgress justice editor #Ian Millhiser has popped up with another of his consistently horrible takes. It looks like he&8217;s already trying to dissuade Romney from running by making the gig sound terrible and suggesting only a fool would want it.
PRO TIP: Being the United States Senator from Utah means spending every Thursday and every Sunday on a 5-hour flight. Also, you have no real power because all the important bills are written in secret by leadership. Only a fool or a narcissist would want the job.

OK, but wouldn&8217;t that also apply to, say, every Democrat who lives far from D.C.?
Flight times even longer for junior senators from California and Hawaii, but they’re leading the Dem party. This is silly. https://t.co/pZYAKT4gXx

Guess we should ignore those western states like California who have longer flight times. https://t.co/I3x4wWTo2r

Does this apply to Kamala Harris who has a longer flight time than Senators from Utah? Or only Republicans? https://t.co/Ab9elIceIy

this literally makes no sense and would also apply to every senator in california, nevada, arizona, washington, oregon&8230;to say nothing for alaska and hawaii. what? https://t.co/QTAYgYcf9n

Y&39;know I was gonna run for one of the most prestigious positions in the world but&8230;all that travel?? Count me out! https://t.co/b7UBNghx9Y

So no state a five hour flight away should bother to have US Senators? Interesting rewrite of the Constitution. https://t.co/DujMqg0yte
