Seth Rogen had a “surreal moment” meeting Charlie Sheen immediately following the former Two and a Half Men star’s HIV revelation earlier this week.
Sheen confirmed he is HIV-positive in a headline-grabbing interview with Matt Lauer on the Today show on Tuesday, when Rogen was also at the New York studio to record a segment promoting his new film, The Night Before.
Rogen admits he felt awkward running in to Sheen so soon after his big reveal, but the 50-year-old was nothing but gracious and relaxed about his candid TV chat, in which he admitted he has been battling the virus since 2011.
“It was a weird way to meet someone to say the least, I guess, but he was very nice actually,” Rogen recalled on talk show Watch What Happens Live! on Thursday. “And I guess he’s known his situation for a long time so for him it maybe wasn’t as weird a moment.”
“I said (to him), Rogen added, “‘This is a surreal moment to be meeting you,’ and he said, ‘Hey, I love The Interview,’ and I was like, ‘Great, thank you very much,’ but I’m a huge fan of Charlie Sheen’s, so it was a surreal moment to be meeting him.”
